Getting support should feel possible- not stressful. I offer a sliding scale and accept select insurance plans to help make therapy more accessible. A new dawn consultation is a gentle, no-pressure way to explore what your going through, ask questions about cost and coverage and see if were a good fit. You don’t have everything figured out to begin — just a willingness to take the first step. Support is here, and it can meet you where you are.
Meet Melissa…
I believe healing happens when people feel truly seen, supported, and understood. I created Dawn of New Beginnings to be a safe, affirming space for adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, grief, emotional overwhelm, and life transitions.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over a decade of experience working in mental health, child welfare, hospice, and community-based care. My background includes outpatient therapy, in-home services for youth and families, crisis support, grief counseling, and collaborative work with schools, psychiatrists, and community agencies. I have supported individuals through depression, anxiety, trauma, loss, family conflict, and major life changes.
My approach is warm, compassionate, and practical. I use evidence-based methods such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, and trauma-informed care, while always honoring each client’s lived experience. I am neurodivergent-affirming and passionate about helping clients build emotional regulation, confidence, and self-understanding.
Before starting my private practice, I worked as a clinician in outpatient and in-home settings, as a bereavement coordinator and grief counselor in hospice, and as a family service specialist supporting children and families in high-stress systems. These experiences shaped me into a grounded, empathetic therapist who understands how overwhelming life can feel — and how powerful support can be.
Whether you are facing a life transition, managing anxiety, navigating grief, or simply feeling stuck, you don’t have to do it alone. My hope is that therapy with me feels like a place to breathe, reset, and begin again.
